Full in-house overhaul of twin 6LX engines and conversion to 6LXB

During the full restoration of MY Thelma/Life Aquatic by Stirling and Son boatbuilders we were sent the twin 6LX engines that required full overhauls. The vessel was slightly under powered so we also converted the engines during overhaul from 6LX specification (127BHP@1500RPM) up to higher rating 6LXB (150bhp@1650RPM). This included changing the valve cams, cylinder heads, fuel pump and fuel pump settings, valves and injectors.
