On-Site Engine Overhaul

In some cases, it is either impossible or too costly to remove an engine from a vessel. We are happy to undertake a full overhaul of these engines in-situ.

Our usual procedure is as follows:

• An initial visit to the vessel is required to assess the engine and available access
• Return to vessel to dismantle the engine
• Remove from the vessel any parts that require work, in most cases without the need for any alteration to the vessel structure
• Undertake any major work in our workshops in the UK, for example cylinder head overhaul, fuel pump overhaul, crankshaft regrind
• Return to the vessel with the overhauled and prepared parts, and all new wearing parts and rebuild
• Our in-house shipping department can organise shipment of small or large consignments with ease and extremely competitively

Although this procedure takes longer than a workshop overhaul, it is usually far less disruptive than removing any vessel structure, especially if it is a classic or historic vessel. Our engineers are very familiar with working on some of the most beautiful yachts in the world and respect every part of the vessel’s detail, both interior and exterior, leaving absolutely no trace of our work when we leave.

A site survey is required before any quotations are submitted. This is usually undertaken alongside a full engine test report. Please contact us for more information.
