Our service division travels throughout the UK, Europe and Worldwide to service Gardner engines – from regular annual services to full engine rebuilds, and everything in between. Our knowledge of engines in service means that we are the experts in working on board vessels, both commercial and private, fault finding and bringing the engines back to original as new condition, both mechanically and aesthetically.
Before servicing an engine previously unknown to us, we will give it a full stationary and running test, if possible, to ascertain its condition before undertaking any work. This allows us to start our relationship with the client and engine with a clean slate, reducing possible future issues and keeping on top of servicing and maintenance schedules to suit the use of the vessel.
Many of these engines are now at least 30 years old, and in some cases up to 80 years old, so it is of the upmost importance that they are properly taken care of. With this in mind, it is advised that we perform even the most basic of services so that we can offer an all-round appraisal of its condition and give the client peace of mind that the engine is in good and reliable condition.
Photos and records of every engine are held on file making any future contact straight forward.
All of our servicing is run from our works in the South of England and travel expenses are charged at cost price. We visit vessels worldwide for a cost similar to an unspecialised engineer who would take twice as long to diagnose a problem and bring with us a lifetime’s knowledge of the Gardner engine. Our specialism means that we can deliver results more efficiently, precisely and cost effectively than anybody else.
